The momentary now performance school è il corso teorico – pratico che Marcella Vanzo propone a Milano in collaborazione con ZONA K e con la media partnership di Exibart, per esplorare la performance a 360 gradi. Un corso che mancava, fatto di azione e riflessione sulla performance, tra arti visive, cinema, poesia e teatro, ma anche antropologia, psicologia o sociologia.
Il corso è annuale e a numero chiuso, 20 incontri settimanali tra fine ottobre 2019 e maggio 2020, il mercoledì dalle 19,30 alle 22,30 in italiano e in inglese. Costa 400 euro, sono previste agevolazioni e sconti sugli spettacoli in programma per gli studenti. Viene rilasciato un attestato finale di frequenza, valido per i crediti formativi.
Per iscriversi è necessario mandare una lettera di motivazione dai primi di settembre sul sito di ZONA K. È disponibile una borsa di studio.
Vanzo invita gli studenti a indagare linguaggi diversi che scandagliano tutta la profondità del gesto, il corpo come mezzo, la voce, il rapporto con l’altro, con lo spazio, con gli oggetti, con il mercato. Gli studenti lavoreranno sulla trasmissione sia individualmente che in gruppo, con focus sul fare, quindi esercitazioni pratiche, lavoro fisico, letture e analisi di opere. Sul vedere: mostre, teatro, performance, video, insieme ad incontri con artisti, curatori ed esperti. E sul trasmettere, impareranno anche a riportare le proprie esperienze.
A fine anno ciascuno di loro esaminerà a fondo una lettura e presenterà un progetto personale a un gruppo scelto di curatori: Matteo Bergamini, Paola Clerico e Gabi Scardi, che seguiranno il corso durante l’anno.

The momentary now performance school is a theoretical – practical annual course held by Marcella Vanzo in Milan, in collaboration with ZONA K, with the media partnership by Exibart. It is an in-depth exploration of the world of performance,
A course made of action and reflection on performance, exploring visual art, cinema, poetry and theatre, as well as anthropology, psychology and sociology. Students will have the chance to participate in the performances held at ZONA K.
It is a course with limited enrolment, it takes place between the end of October 2019 and May 2020, in 20 weekly meetings, on Wednesday from 7:30 to 10:30 pm, in Italian and English.Course price: 400 euros. Facilitations included as well as discounts on ZONA K shows ticket prices. Final certificate of attendance provided, valid as course credit.

Marcella Vanzo invites students to investigate the different languages around the depth of a gesture, body as the media, voice, relation with the other, with space, with objects, with the market. Students will work on transmission, individually and in groups. Focus will be on doing: practical exercises, physical work, readings and work analysis. On watching:
exhibitions, theatre shows, performance, video as well as meeting artists, curators and experts. On transmitting: they will learn to relate their experiences.
At the end of the year, each one of them will discuss one of the readings and will present a personal project to a selected group of curators: Matteo Bergamini, Paola Clerico and Gabi Scardi, who will follow the course throughout the year.

Per il secondo appuntamento del progetto Radical ideato da Penzo+Fiore per Fondazione Berengo, Marcella Vanzo – invitata da Matteo Bergamini – porta a Venezia un progetto inedito dedicato al Sacrario Militare di Redipuglia: To wake up the living, to wake up the dead. Non una rivisitazione storica ma una celebrazione di vita non del tutto estranea all’idea di sacrilegio. Attraverso video, fotografia e installazione l’artista ridà corpo ai 100.000 soldati che riposano a Redipuglia, uno dei sacrari militari più grandi al mondo, nell’estremo nord-est,  quell’area italiana dove la guerra di trincea del primo conflitto mondiale si consumò spietata.

For the second show from the Radical series conceived by PenzoFiore at Fondazione Berengo, upon invitation of Matteo Bergamini, Marcella Vanzo will present in Venice her new project titled “To wake up the living, to wake up the dead” on the Redipuglia War Memorial. Nothing to do with an historical re-enactment but rather a celebration of life, although not completely estranged form the idea of sacrilege. Through a detailed survey made of one video, photographs and installations, the artist brings back to life the bodies of the 100,000 soldiers buried at Redipuglia, one of the largest war memorials in the world, located along the Northern Eastern strip of Italy, where the First World War front used to be and trench warfare was merciless.
