Performance, 45′
Monastero del Carmine, Bergamo, Italy
Not an easy feat to describe VERSI 02, a performance conceived for the 10th anniversary of ContemporaryLocus in Bergamo, at Monastero del Carmine. It is made of several performances taking place at the same time, each making up a human ephemeral landscape.
As I read my verses, accompanied by Paolo Mongardi’s drums, eight performers write some of them on their arms, their legs, their back. Words emerge on their skin, they somehow pierce the body, then disappear. The girls wash them away and write again. Verses about love, separation, death. This performance is called To leave a trace.
Not to leave a trace, another performance, takes place at the same time. It is the spontaneous autobiography of a separation.
A man and a woman stand in front of each other. At some point, they start moving back and away form each other, yet facing each other.
He erases his footsteps with a small broom, she cancels her passage with her own hair. They will never meet again.
An android moves and dances among the public, while SuperSciri performs Presente/Assente in the far corner.
