Marcella Vanzo marries icon and language: without undressing she bares herself before us.
She appears, yet, all she has to do to disappear is to turn off the light. Her projection is the hologram, or, paradoxically, a shadow of light, of that dark message that is poetry.
It cuts, crosses, stuns, moves, mocks, makes fun, terrifies. It is, always, censored, because it is blinding as well as dark.
In both cases, in the glare and in the darkness, one must slit one’s eyes to keep track of one’s whereabouts, just as, to make poetry and to receive it, one must surrender, be naked and willing.
